A bill has passed in the Arizona House (HB2022, entitled “Save Our Children School Safety Program”) which tasks the Department of Education with providing training to K-12 employees who seek to carry guns at school. The new law, if passed by the Arizona Senate and signed into law by the Governor, would require employee certification that would include 4 hours of training on when it is proper to use force, and 24 hours of actual firearm training.
