On Election Day, there will be 13 certified measures on the ballot for Arizona voters to weigh in on.
Propositions garnering the most attention are:
Proposition 139: If passed by the voters, this proposition will make it a constitutional right in Arizona to allow abortions up until the time of fetal viability.
Proposition 314: This proposition would allow non-citizens to be arrested by state or local police if they cross the border illegally.
Proposition 137: This proposition would abolish term limits for state Supreme Court and Superior Court justices. Currently, judges are on the ballot once they reach the end of their term. If this proposition passes, elections for judges would end. Judges would hold office during “good behavior” instead of serving a specified term and then being retained (or not) by voters.
Proposition 140: This proposition would eliminate partisan Primary elections, allowing voters to opt for a candidate of their choice, instead of from a roster of Republicans only or Democrats only. Regardless of any candidate’s party affiliation, the top vote-getters from the Primary would stand for election in the General election.
